Helping SirnAI Launch an Impressive Product Demo on a Tight Deadline
Hamelin Tech needed a mobile application that would help sell their AI-powered sound recognition technology: SirnAI. We delivered a Flutter-based app that visualized sound events in a unique, intuitive interface, all within a fast-paced, R&D-driven process.
Hamelin Tech, led by Mark Reimer and Shy Ward, SirnAI centers around a microphone that uses AI to recognize and classify home sounds without relying on cameras, offering a privacy-focused alternative for home security and property monitoring. Mark and Shy developed a proprietary algorithm for analyzing environmental audio for alarming sounds, and they hold a patent for it. With the backend already developed, the client turned to us to design and build a striking frontend — one that not only looked impressive but clearly conveyed the product’s capabilities.
The mobile application was created to showcase this technology in a compelling and digestible format, supporting the company’s sales efforts with a clear, visually engaging presentation layer.
The goal was to build an interface that would showcase the capabilities of SirnAI’s proprietary AI algorithm for monitoring premises through sound. Our team had full ownership of the UX and UI, designing a dynamic gradient-based system to represent eight categories of recognized sounds over a 24-hour timeline. The result was an interface that clearly demonstrated the strengths of the underlying technology and supported SirnAI’s go-to-market efforts with a memorable, easy-to-grasp presentation layer.

Creative UX/UI design for high engagement
We were given freedom to explore and design a visual system that would spark interest during short trade show interactions. The gradient-based display of sound categories allowed users to immediately understand patterns and events, expressed visually without technical noise.
Mobile app development in Flutter
We built the application in Flutter, prioritizing iOS for the U.S. market while maintaining compatibility with Android if the product extended to Europe.

Translating backend sound recognition into an intuitive UI required custom work with shaders, graphic rendering, and spatial plotting of data. The gradient algorithm was developed to support color-coded categorization across time.

Solution — Experimental Setup for Maintenance Work
The final application visualizes a full day of captured sounds using color-coded gradients, making it easy to spot patterns and recognize types of audio events without needing technical knowledge. Each type of sound — ranging from door knocks to human voices — is expressed along a 24-hour plot, giving users a practical overview of their home environment.
Designed with scalability in mind, the application also lays the foundation for more advanced use cases in healthcare or assisted living, where passive monitoring is preferred. The modular frontend structure makes it adaptable for future backend improvements or additional devices.
The SirnAI app helped the company confidently present its AI technology to potential partners and investors, proving that thoughtful UX and creative visualization can play a key role in early-stage product traction.
